Google keyword research is more crucial than ever before, as Google adwords is now the world’s #1 ad network.100 countries are part of the google content network.
With such reach, the competition grows by the minute. Google is making a killing.More than $4b in 2007 from adwords. I dont know how much of that money came from profitable ads, but my guess is more advertisers lost money than made money on the ads.
Here are the 6 main issues with PPC advertising

Discovering the exact keywords: it is all about those keywords. If you have different words than the people who are searching, you won’t get any clicks. Or even worse you could get hits from people looking for other things other than what you offer.
Its a bit of a catch-22.
You want the clicks, but you dont want every click. You only need 1 click from a buyer and that is worth all the clicks from non buyers. You really need to be careful that the keywords you use are the ones suited to searchers looking for your solutions.
However, for you to do this manually takes time and effort. Even worse it might not work out. There are decent keyword research tools out there but there is a big learning curve with most of them. Finding the Winning Combination: So you spend an insane amount of time that you cant really afford doing intense keyword research for your PPC ad campaign and now you are ready to try them out online. Wait! if you think you are done, you have a while to go. Having the magic keywords is not worth anything without having the keywords in the right combination. It’s pretty similar to taking an exam and the right answer is 786.
You could spend a lot of time but if you missed the answer by 1, you would be 100% wrong. And the teacher wont care one bit that you had the right numbers in the answer. It’s quite similar to paid per click. People are searching for more than specific words. They are searching for specific words in a specific order & specific combination.
You simply have to be on the ball to attract the perfect customer. Therefore you need to test your keywords combination to discover which ones work best for you.
This task in it of itself is diffucult, so i wont scare you by telling you that its actually even more complicated. That you need to find out what products your competition are promoting in combination with the landing pages and keywords & keyword combination that are making them a profit in order to make serious money. But there is a solution, a shortcut if you will.
